kc (harry wayne) casey

When you hear KC’s music it makes you want to put on your Boogie Shoes…and that was the plan.  Born in South Florida, Harry Wayne Casey was working at TK Records in Miami in 1973, waiting for his break. It came courtesy of TK owner Henry Stone. KC said with all that was going on at the time – Watergate, Vietnam – he wanted to create music that made people happy. It made them – and KC – and Stone -very happy, and helped secure Miami’s reputation as a hot music city.

KC has won Grammy Awards for Album Of The Year and Producer Of The Year, and too many other awards to mention. KC And The Sunshine Band’s music has been heard at major sporting events, including The Super Bowl, The World Series, The Indy 500, every holiday parade, presidential campaign, and, according to the website, played at nearly every wedding and Bar Mitzvah in the World. (We don’t doubt it.)
